Welcome to all new and returning students and staff members! We are excited to announce the arrival of the following new staff members to LFPS: Mrs. Medhurst, (Vice-Principal), Mrs. Farr (Grade 2/3 Teacher), Mrs. McLeod (Kindergarten Teacher) and Mrs. Wilkes, Educational Assistant.
I look forward to another busy and exciting year here at LFPS. Our school enrollment, after several new registrations during the past week is about 470 as this newsletter goes to print.
This month’s character trait is “goal-setting”. As it says on page 12 of the student agenda, “Goal-setting is knowing precisely what you want to achieve and where you have to concentrate your efforts.”
On the home front, you have been making arrangements for your child’s/children’s return to school just as we have been preparing for their arrival. The staff has worked extremely hard with me to prepare for school opening and together we look forward to a smooth start-up as well as another terrific year here at LFPS!
Our school motto is giving our children roots and wings. We intend to live our motto by communicating regularly with you as well as providing an exceptional education for your children. Our staff is dedicated to helping your children adjust to the new school year and welcome any calls or concerns that you may have to help meet their needs.
I recognize that there will be a great deal of paperwork going home this week for various informational items. Please rest assured that this is not typical of the entire school year. We certainly appreciate the time and attention that you take to promptly update all the forms and read the opening pages of the agenda. Your attention to detail will help us get off to a smooth start.
