LFPS Recognizes World Down Syndrome on Thursday, March 21

Remember to break out your mismatched socks this Thursday, March 21 – when LFPS recognizes World Down Syndrome Day.  Why do we wear mismatched socks?  Check out the website links below to learn why!

I would encourage our Lions’ community to check out the Canadian Down Syndrome Society or the World Down Syndrome Day website.

The website encourages people to remember that Down Syndrome does not define the person.  We should not identify people first by their disability and we need to reconsider our thinking.  For example, people “have” Down Syndrome but they do not “suffer” from it; nor are they “afflicted” by it.  Check out the website links above to reshape our thinking!
