LFPS Recognizes World Autism Day on Tuesday, April 2 – Wear Blue

Break out the blue on Tuesday, April 2 LFPS community!  LFPS recognizes World Autism Day on this day.  

A great place to learn more about autism? Start with Autism Speaks Canada. You can also check out this YouTube video on the Autism Speaks Canada website. It is a great video!

This website explains that autism, or autism spectrum disorder, is a range of conditions which include challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, and speech and non-verbal communication. It is now believed that there is no single cause of autism. Rather, there are a combination of genetic and environmental factors.

Summer break information

All school buildings will be closed to the public for the summer break beginning Monday, July 7, reopening on Tuesday, August 26.

Beginning the week of July 14, the TLDSB Lindsay Education Centre is open to the public Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Muskoka Education Centre is closed to the public over the break.

The first day of school for both elementary and secondary students is Wednesday, September 3. Note, Kindergarten students will have a staggered start.
