Leslie Frost Public School (LFPS) recently concluded its fifth annual participation in the Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser, an initiative by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
This yearly movement encourages kids to get active, have fun, and practice healthy habits, all while teaching them the importance of giving back.
In February, students were encouraged to raise funds through online donations. To complement the fundraising, “heart pumping” activities were organized in the gym from February 2 to 6 during class gym periods. These engaging activities included jump rope, hopscotch, hula hooping, hot potato, an obstacle course, and bean bag toss.
In total, the school raised $220 to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada’s vital life-saving research. Visit the school’s Jump Rope for Heart webpage for more information.
