LINDSAY, ON – Dozens of people turned out to admire student art being showcased by Trillium Lakelands District School Board this afternoon.
Almost 100 pieces of art were on display in three Board locations – the Lindsay Corporate Office, the McMurray Room at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School, and the Archie Stouffer Conference Centre.
The art is part of a juried art exhibit of student work organized by Lesley Drummond, Art Department head and Anders Widjedal – both art teachers in the Board. The pieces were chosen for display over the next several months before the second annual call for art occurs next spring.
“We are honoured to have this presence of our students in our offices and hallways,” said Director of Education, Larry Hope. “I can’t tell you how many of our staff have commented on how much it adds to our work environment – a reminder always that we are here for the students.”
Today a reception occurred in each of the three locations. Parents, grandparents, students, and their teachers took the chance to celebrate this honour.
