Franco-Ontario Day happens on Monday, September 25. We are asking that all members of our school community wear green and white. There is lots to learn about this important day! The Franco-Ontario heritage goes back more than 400 years. Beginning in 1613, Samuel de Champlain, along with the Indigenous guides, explored many parts of Ontario accessible through waterways. Being the history person that I am, one of the great historical Canadian pieces that ties into this day is the astrolabe that Champlain is believed to have lost around modern-day Cobden, Ontario while conducting these explorations.
