Congratulations to our Cross Country Team that competed at Ken Reid Park last Wednesday, October 12. LFPS had 7 Top 10 finishers with 2 of these finishers being 2nd and 3rd in their respective divisions – fantastic! Even more impressively, the Primary Girls WON their division! Both the Primary Boys and the Junior Girls placed 2nd in their divisions! Individual performances are impressive; however, TEAM performances are extraordinary because of the consistent overall team effort required to place high in a division.
Thank you to our team members who gave up recesses and nutrition breaks to practice for the run. Your efforts are appreciated! Thank you to our coaches: Mme. McCabe, Ms. Smalley, Mme. McLeod and Ms. Webster who also gave up recesses and nutrition to coach the team. Finally, thank you to our parent volunteers who helped supervise our students. The excitement and smiles on our Lions’ faces was wonderful to see.
