batteriesDid you know that household batteries contribute to many potentially hazardous compounds in our municipal solid waste stream, including zinc, lead, nickel, alkalines, manganese, cadmium, silver, and mercury?  What do YOU do with your household batteries?

We are hosting a Battery Collection campaign here at Leslie Frost Public School during the week of October 18- 22nd.   Please send your used, non leaking batteries in a ziplock bag with your child, so he/she can deposit them safely in the bin provided.

After the 22nd, we will no longer be accepting batteries.  You can drop off AAA, AA, C, D, 9 volt and button batteries at Municipal Service Centres, City Library Branches and City Hall.  See www.city.kawarthalakes.on.ca for more details.
