Volunteering at Leslie Frost P.S.

volunteerLeslie Frost P.S. encourages the participation of volunteers and recognizes the educational advantages to all concerned. Our school further believes that through volunteering, individuals can model caring and cooperative relationships and promote the value of being responsible citizens.

Please learn more about the volunteer opportunities that are available in our school and the related procedure for becoming a volunteer in this pamphlet.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to Safe Schools legislation our volunteers are required to submit an original Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening (a one-time-only check). A photocopy of the original police check is kept at the school.

Assisting in Classrooms

* assisting the teacher in working directly with individual or small groups of students to reinforce learning skills (ex. reading, writing stories, math skills)
* assisting with preparations for special projects, photocopying or various other tasks

Time Commitment:

* your choice of day of the week; time of day
* it is important that volunteers working directly with students be prepared to make a
consistent commitment as students often form a special relationship with adult
helpers
* it is most helpful if the time commitment fits within one of our hundred minute instructional blocks but shorter time commitments on a regular basis are also very welcome

I am interested in volunteering. Please contact us here.
