Parent Advisory Council Update

Nov. 30, 2011 - We need your help! Parent Advisory Council is well underway - We have had two meetings so far and have had a great turnout this year. I wanted to extend a huge welcome to all of the returning and new parents who have come on board. Thus said - we still need more help - We are organizing 2 new committees and we need ideas and volunteers to help make those ideas into reality.

The first committee is looking into a grant (Parents Reaching Out) - the general idea is that we receive money for the school if we come up with a way of getting parents involved and into the school. If you have a background in working with grants and proposals or just an interest in brainstorming ideas - "We NEED you".

The second committee is our fundraising committee. We need ideas and people to help carry those ideas through - We have some great fundraisers that we would like to build on (Spring Fling being one) and we need to decide which fundraisers should continue and which ones should be replaced with new ideas. This said - we are not looking for huge commitments from people - you can decide how much and when you can contribute. Every little bit helps.

If you are interested in finding out more or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Parent Advisory Council here. The next Parent Advisory Council meeting is being held in the Leslie Frost Staff Room on December 6th at 6:00pm.

Together we can make a difference.

~ Angela Field, Parent Council Co-Chair
