idpThis Friday, many of our students and their teachers will be marking The International Day of Peace, observed each year on September 21. This year, the United Nation’s Secretary-General is calling on governments and citizens to focus on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.

The International Day of Peace (“Peace Day”) provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of peace on a shared date. It was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981 to coincide with the opening of the General Assembly.
